The G** Word:  Women Share Stories about God...  or not God

PLEASE NOTE: This evening will be held on a Tuesday (April 1) rather than the usual Friday since Friday is the Sabbath for Jews and Muslims and we deeply hope that all people of all faiths (or no faith) will feel welcomed and included.

THE EVENING:

In many circles these days, it’s more acceptable to pepper your conversation with “f-bombs” than to talk about your relationship with the Almighty; in other company, expressing your lack of belief is almost as taboo as admitting you voted Democrat in the last election. Talking about your spiritual or religious experiences or lack there can be so divisive, that many of us avoid it unless we are with people we know are likeminded, and even then we may tread lightly. In this evening of Beyond Barbie: Touchy Topics, women will share their personal stories about their religious or spiritual experiences.  Some of the women are part of an “organized religion”, others have left the religion of their childhood far behind to discover a different path and still others do not believe in a deity at all. It will be an evening of intimate personal stories and music - no sermons or lectures. And while we cannot claim to present every single perspective, we hope to bring a diverse and thoughtful, heartfelt evening of sharing in a respectful environment, seldom encountered in “polite society”.
