Richmond Women speaking the unspoken outloud
Sing for Joy: a Community Sing-a-long with Susan Greenbaum
WHEN: FRIDAY, May 9, 7 – 9 PM
WHERE: Crossroads Art Center
THE EVENING:
Pete Seeger’s death was the impetus for many beautiful posts on Facebook, in the newspapers, and on television around the world. His songs, his politics, his beautiful collaborative nature were all eulogized as generations of us recognized what a powerful effect he had on us all. Susan Greenbaum, local singer extraordinaire, wrote, “Rest in peace, Pete, with Toshi [his wife] again at your side. Maybe you lived such a long life because the world needed your positive energy, motivating words, and beautiful music; we still do, but now it's up to us to carry on your efforts to make the world a better place--and wouldn't it be a better place if we all sang together more often?” May 9 will be such a time. Susan will lead us as we gather to join our voices together in songs of empowerment and hope and equality – truly a journey Beyond Barbie and Touchy Topics. .
