Richmond Women speaking the unspoken outloud
Loving Yourself: The Art of Self Care
WHEN: FRIDAY, April 11, 7 – 9 PM
WHERE: Crossroads Art Center
THE EVENING:
The belief that taking care of oneself equals ”selfishness,” is an outdated notion that is no longer valid in the frantic contemporary world. In fact, self-care is essential for balance, happiness, and ultimately survival. This Beyond Barbie: Touchy Topics evening will focus on a different way to think about the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of self-care. Through poetry, dance, performance and audience participation, we will explore and refute the common obstacles that persuade women to put self-care at the bottom of their personal priority list. We will explain what self-care is and visualize achieving self-care as a first priority: the essential element needed to survive in today’s fast-moving and very complicated world.
